Start with the scan status
- Issues Detected
- The completed scan has one or more currently reported findings or broken links.
- No Issues Reported
- The completed scan has no currently reported or suppressed findings.
- No Active Issues
- The completed scan has no reported findings, but it does contain findings hidden by suppression rules.
- Scan Optimized
- A fresh capture matched the previous full-scan baseline closely enough to skip the standard deep review. Applicable custom rules are still evaluated.
- Scan Deferred
- A scan limit stopped the deeper review for this attempt. The available snapshot and performance context remain visible.
- Partial Scan
- Some stages or devices completed, but another part could not finish reliably or reached a scan limit.
- Scan Error
- Scout could not produce a complete result. Expand the scan for its failure message and retryable status.
Read the findings
Findings describe user-visible or content problems worth reviewing. Each finding includes a severity, device, type, plain-language description, and sometimes a suggested next step. Custom-rule findings also show the exact requirement that triggered the review.
- Read the description and suggestion before judging the severity badge.
- Check whether the finding is Desktop, Mobile, or tied to a custom rule.
- Review suppressed findings separately; they are hidden from the active issue count.
- Open the source page yourself when the issue depends on live state.
Inspect screenshots and evidence
Screenshots are full-page captures of what Scout saw for each device. Open them at full size and use the finding description to locate the issue; the screenshot itself is not necessarily annotated. Compare it with the live page because content and third-party widgets may have changed since the scan.
Interaction Issues records page behavior that limited the review, such as an overlay, input, navigation, or embedded element Scout could not safely prepare.
Review links and performance
Broken-link findings include the destination and the page where Scout encountered it. Confirm that the destination is expected to be public before fixing or dismissing it.
Performance metrics show server response time, time until the page is ready to use, load completion, and approximate initial page size. They help explain the scan environment, but they are not a full performance audit or a guarantee of every visitor's experience.
What no findings means
No findings means Scout did not identify an issue worth reporting in the work completed for that run. It does not certify that the page is perfect, test every business requirement, or guarantee every possible browser and visitor state.
- Confirm the scan completed for the device you care about.
- Check whether it was optimized, deferred, partial, or height-limited.
- Review suppressed findings before concluding the page is clear.
