Getting Started with Scout

From the dashboard, choose New Site. Enter the public homepage for the website you want Scout to watch. Scout checks sitemaps and same-domain navigation links, recommends useful pages, and fills the site name from the page title or hostname. You choose the scan frequency and device mode.

1. Enter the site's normal public homepage. You can include https://, or Scout will assume it when the protocol is omitted.
2. Review the discovered pages. Scout preselects stronger candidates, but you decide which URLs are worth monitoring.
3. Confirm the site name, choose an available frequency and device mode, and optionally add a site-level email recipient.
4. Choose Finish & Monitor. Scout activates selected pages until the account's remaining monitored-page slots are filled.

Scout uses your sitemap and public navigation to discover likely pages. Select the pages where a mistake would affect trust, revenue, or an important visitor action.

• Homepage, pricing, product, service, or donation pages.
• Signup, registration, contact, checkout, or lead-form pages.
• Campaign, event, promotion, or other time-sensitive pages.

If discovery misses a public URL, open the site and choose Add Pages. Paste the known URLs one per line. Scout accepts pages on the site's original domain; subdomains and external domains are skipped.

The site's frequency, device, schedule, and notification settings become the defaults for pages that use site settings. Choose values that work for most pages, then override only the exceptions.

Frequency

Manual only, daily, weekly, or monthly, depending on your plan.

Device

Desktop, mobile, or both. Scanning both uses two scan credits per page.

Recipients

Add site-level email, Slack, or webhook destinations, then choose whether pages also include account or page recipients.

Your preferred timezone and account-wide instant or digest alert timing live in System Settings. A page override keeps its own value when the corresponding site default changes.

Open the site, choose an active monitored page, and select Scan Now. Scout queues the work, opens the page in a real browser, prepares the visible page, captures evidence, checks links, and reviews the result.

Keep the page open if you want to watch progress, or return later. The result appears in that page's scan history when processing finishes.

Start with the exact scan status and current reported finding count. Expand the latest scan to review descriptions, affected devices, screenshots, broken links, interaction issues, and performance details.

1. Open each finding and inspect the visual or link evidence.
2. Fix confirmed issues on your website.
3. Mark a resolved finding as fixed, or dismiss an unwanted finding with a reason and the narrowest safe suppression scope.
